OUR ROOMS
Our rooms are born within an ancient, intimate, and quiet space, immersed in the peacefulness of the Ligurian hills. Each room preserves the historic soul of the house and reinterprets it with contemporary comforts, creating an intimate sanctuary where you can slow down, breathe, and reclaim your time. Ancient stone, historic beams, panoramic terraces, and views of the village and the Merula Valley frame an adults-only stay, tailored for a private, natural, and authentic experience.Their names stem from the origins of the house — a small monastery — and the memory of these places: silence, light, time, stone, olive trees, and sunset.
All rooms are equipped with a French, double, or king-size bed, a bathroom with a shower, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a minibar, a Nespresso coffee machine, and a selection of herbal teas.

Once a small cell for monks who, in the 13th century, stayed here during their pilgrimages between France and Piedmont, it preserves its most authentic calling: offering silence, contemplation, and serenity. Located on the ground floor, it stands out for its original 15th-century stone walls and ancient ceiling beams, brought back to life through careful conservative restoration. It features a comfortable French bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and a stunning view of the surrounding hills.

The Olive Room

Olearum holds one of the house’s most fascinating memories. After serving as a convent cell, it became the olive room in the 17th century—the initial storage space after the harvest before the fruit was lowered to the mill. In fact, an opening in the center of the floor once connected directly to the olive press below, through which the olives were dropped. Today, that passage no longer exists, but its story remains etched in the heritage of this place. Located on the ground floor, the room features a fully equipped double terrace, partly covered, with a splendid view of the hills and the village rooftops: an ideal corner for the soft sunset light. The interiors preserve the original 15th-century stone walls and ancient ceiling beams. It consists of a living room with a sofa bed and a master bedroom.

Lux Lucis was one of the two master bedrooms belonging to the family who, in the 17th century, purchased the building and transformed it into their private residence. Located on the first floor, it is a spacious and bright room, designed for those who wish to experience the charm of a historic estate with an open view of the landscape. The fully equipped terrace offers a spectacular view of the Merula Valley and the surrounding hills: a privileged space to relax in the finest light of the day. It stands out for its vaulted ceiling and frescoed walls, brought back to their original 19th-century colors during restoration. It consists of two spaces: a living room with a sofa bed and a master bedroom.

Located on the first floor, it takes its name from its most evocative light: that of the evening. From the terrace, at sunset, your gaze meets a fascinating glimpse of the village’s small medieval church, in a suspended and silent atmosphere. The room preserves the charm of historic spaces, featuring a vaulted ceiling and frescoed walls in their original 19th-century colors, rediscovered and enhanced during the restoration. Located on the first floor, it features a high vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom, which adds breath and charm to the space. It also offers a living area with a kitchenette and a sofa bed, ideal for a more independent stay. Outside, a terraced space surrounded by greenery invites you to enjoy a morning coffee, a good book, or an aperitif in the soft evening light. Domus is a small home within the home: intimate, elegant, and authentic.

- Rates: All prices are per room, per night, based on a maximum occupancy of 2 people.
- Extra Bed: Where available, an extra bed can be provided at an additional cost of €30.00 per night.
- Minimum Stay: The DOMUS accommodation (apartment) requires a minimum stay of 2 nights.
- Deposit: For stays longer than 4 nights, a 50% non-refundable deposit (caparra confirmatoria) is required. This can be paid via bank transfer.
- Guarantee: All reservations must be guaranteed by a valid credit card at the time of booking. Reservations without a valid credit card cannot be confirmed. Please note that American Express (AMEX) is not accepted.
- Check-in: From 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. For arrivals outside these hours, we kindly ask you to contact us in advance to arrange your arrival.
- Check-out: By 10:00 AM on the day of departure.
- Payment: We kindly ask our guests to settle the remaining balance for their stay the evening before departure.
- Smoking Policy: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the entire property.
- Age Restrictions & Pets: To guarantee a peaceful and relaxing environment, Borgo Alto welcomes guests aged 14 and over. For the same reasons, pets are not allowed.
- Up to 15 days before arrival: Free cancellation.
- From 14 to 7 days before arrival: The paid deposit will be retained. If no deposit was made, 50% of the total amount of the stay will be charged.
- From 6 days before arrival, in case of a No-Show, or early departure: 100% of the total amount of the stay will be charged.
